Reviews

Love the quality for the price!CindieI needed a new chair since my old one felt as if I was going to fall over backwards in. I sat in pretty much every chair in IKEA and settled on this one. I'm not disappointed at all! It's a firm cushion, but feels like it supports extremely well. My lower back appreciates the way it feels as I sit back in it since it feels a supported instead of being sunk into the cushion on some of the soft chairs. It feels as if it's a great quality chair. The wheels automatically lock unless you're sitting in it for that slightly added safety of sitting in a rolling chair that might go out from under you, so that is also nice. Easy to assemble! I would definitely recommend this chair!5
Terrific Office Chair!DebiAfter sitting in numerous chairs at an IKEA store, I chose this one and I'm so glad I did! It was easy to put together and adjust when sitting. I'm short and like to sit fairly upright (little to no slumping/slouching) and this chair makes it easy and is very comfortable. I highly recommend it! 5
This chair is a goodUyenThis chair is a good deal and works well.5
Gave out!WessI purchased 3 for home office use. After 3 years of regular home use the plastic of the arm assembly (connects the seat to the back and provides the arm rests) broke on one chair. I'd replace the parts (they just bolt on), but the parts are apparently not available for replacement. At the time of purchase they were good value, but I didn't expect them to become unusable through normal use. I'd give them a QUALIFIED approval, but not if you intend frequent use. I'd also second the comments from other reviewers that the material can be damaged relatively easily.3

Good chair for the priceFredericGood chair for its price4
UncomfortableRamonThis chair looks amazing but it is the most uncomfortable office chair I have ever owned. It is tilting forward and I feel like I am sliding. Moreover, it does not tilt backwards. Also, there was no assembly instruction included in the box.2
Great chair, comfortable and easy to assembleJohnOverall a great, solidly designed chair comfortable for the office5
Not a replacement for the old MALKOLMLisaI bought the MALKOLM several years ago, and wanted to buy another. The MALKOLM is no longer available, but the MILLBERGET *looks* the same, so I bought it. Appearances are deceiving – even though the measurements are very similar, this chair is NOT as comfortable as its predecessor, always feeling like the back of the chair is "pushing" you forward. (And yes, I know how to release the lock and adjust the spring.) I will say the ONLY things better about the MILLBERGET vs. the MALKOLM is the gas lift does go a little higher, and the upholstery is improved on the armrests (though the "forward push" of the chair makes the armrests rather useless for me). I will be returning this and looking for something else.1
Very easy to assemble andTamikaVery easy to assemble and beautiful look for the office5
Great PriceHelenMy husband loves the chair;I love the price! The lockable castors sold us on it. Putting the last 2 screws in to secure the seat back was not as easy as the video made it look. All’s well that ends well. 4
Need a Replacement ChairVirgiiaMy husband has used this chair daily for several years and found it quite comfortable. However, first the arms and now other areas of the chair "leather" have worn away and it looks very shabby. For the price, we will replace it with another just like it and hope we like it as well. It would be great if the covering were more durable.4
Weird tiltMichelleI bought this chair in Aug 2022, with daily use (WFH), it has held up quite well. However, as other reviews have mentioned, the chair has a strange forward tilt - meaning that I don't actually really use the backrest, which is quite annoying. It's not worth my time to drive back to ikea to return it, but be warned that you probably will be using it like a stool lol. 2
Comfortable for home officeJoshuaThe chair has been great. Was not too hard to assemble, it’s comfortable, and it looks great too.5
Some huge flaws ruin an otherwise great chair.RoyI've owned 2 of these in the past. One, the corner of the arms WILL break. Might be 6 months, might be 2 years, but they will break. Without the arms, you have nothing. IKEA does NOT replace or sell the arms. No warranty either, better break within return policy window. Two, they changed the seat angle a few years ago. Now, it uncomfortably leans forward. Google "Millberget forward tilt" for some sloppy user fixes. The default angle is awful. IKEA must have known about the arm issue for years and years, and they still sell it with these thin, flimsy arms. It's crazy. Fix the arms and seat angle, and you guys have a great chair. Seriously, if I could just buy the arms, I like this chair enough that I'd buy a handful of sets at a reasonable price. Seat foam is acceptable, but it would be amazing if there were a bit more too. 2
Fabric melted from normal use after one yearJThe fabric started melting and sliding down the back, seat, and armrests. IKEA won't reimburse for it since it's been over a year. Another piece of garbage for the landfill :( 1
Bring back the black and white option!KateI love this chair. It's very comfortable, adjusts up and down, swivels, and does all with ease and efficiency. I had 2 in black and white, and they were beautiful in my home office. But when moving to another state, I was very limited on carrying space, so decided to leave them behind and buy new ones in the new place. Big mistake! I then found out the black and white option was discontinued. I now have the solid black, which is still a great chair, just not as stylish as the black and white. If that one were again available, I'd buy it in a heartbeat and gift this one to someone else.5
Office chairFishNice looking and very comfortable5
Beautiful !JavieraEasy to assemble , very comfy ! The only thing is that you can’t recline in this chair , but is ok for the price5
I love this chair! Still comfortable 5 years later!LolaI love this chair! Mine is the White and Black and I wish they had that same color combination but thank you for offering the light color (Murum Beige) as I work from a home office and my desk is white so I don't want a dark chair. This is the most comfortable chair, and I will definitely be purchasing this again. I've been using mine daily for 5 years. Thank you, IKEA, for offering quality products!5
